Abstract

The articles included in this special issue reflect on the variety of approaches
to plants and animals in Brazilian literature from the Amerindian worldview to
more recent writings.

Author Biographies

Patrícia Vieira, Georgetown University

Patrícia Vieira is Associate Professor of Spanish and Portuguese, Comparative Literature, and Film and Media Studies at Georgetown University and Associate Research Professor at the Center for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra. Her fields of expertise are Comparative Literature, Literature and Philosophy, Literary Theory, Utopian Studies and Environmental Studies. She is the author of Seeing Politics Otherwise: Vision in Latin American and Iberian Fiction; Portuguese Film 1930-1960.
